Regional Science Olympiad

Island School was the only team representing at the Regionals Science Olympiad this weekend, but students had to compete against one another to secure their spots in specific events. The event was held at Kauaʻi Community College, where the judges were truly impressed by the team’s knowledge—particularly in Anatomy and Physiology, Codebusters, and Disease Detectives. There were several nail-biting races, especially in Ecology, Write It Do It, and Anatomy and Physiology.

We are excited to announce that Island School has officially qualified for the State Science Olympiad, which will take place on March 29, 2025, at UH-Mānoa. A huge thank you to Ryan Girard, his team, and the volunteers for making the event such a challenging experience for our students!

A big thank you to Joe Corbo for stepping in as Coach while Laura Lee was with students at Regionals Science Fair. On top of that, Joe also served as the Event Supervisor for Tower, allowing students to test their towers. We really appreciate his support!
