This week, our high school Aloha Ambassadors visited the fourth grade class (The Kindness Squad) and presented to them in small groups about solving friendship issues and being inclusive and kind. High school students also talked about navigating friendships, provided examples from their own lives, and answered questions from the fourth grade students.
Aloha Ambassadors is a high school club dedicated to spreading kindness and inclusivity in the Island School community, as well as offering mentoring opportunities with our younger students.
The fourth grade students are the Kindness Squad. They do weekly "sneak attack" acts of kindness like deliver baked goods to teachers, write notes to students, lead daily recess games like checkers and connect four, sit with kids who are alone during lunch and more. Fourth grade is also learning a ton about Social Emotional well-being in morning meetings and with Ms. Christine.
