The STARS program is a week-long free educational STEM program running from June 15-21, 2025 for young ladies who are rising freshman through exiting seniors in high school. The program aims to inspire and encourage these students to see themselves in these fields by introducing them to a variety of subjects and career pathways. We have scheduled several engaging presentations, tours at local STEM facilities, hands-on workshops, college and career preparation, and team-building activities. Some highlights include stargazing at Hale Pohaku, a lesson on Native Plants and reforestation, a hands-on hydrology activity from a chemist, a tour of a near-net-zero emissions farm, a summit tour of an Observatory on Maunakea, experience a remote observation run with a former STARS participant, and much more.
