Michael Thompson and Rob Evans, two notable authors and school consultants, will be on campus presenting to students, faculty and staff, board of directors, and parents/guardians, on Tuesday, February 11th - a special learning opportunity for our whole community. Thompson is the author and co-author of several books, including the New York Times bestseller, Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys and has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and more. Evans is a child and family therapist who has authored three books and consulted with schools throughout the world. Together, their most recent publication is Hopes and Fears, Working with Today's Independent School Parents.
The topics of their Feb. 11 talks at Island School will include Best Friends, Worst Enemies with our Middle School students, Under Pressure with our High School students, Hopes and Fears: Strengthening the Relationship with Today's Independent School Parents with our Faculty and Staff, and Parenting with Less Stress and More Joy in a Digital Age with our Parent Community.
