Today, elementary students participated in our very first STEAM Day! STEAM Day celebrates science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics through student-led activities. Student from Pre-K through 5th Grade joined multi-age groups and rotated to different stations throughout the day, designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and teamwork among students.
Themes and Activities for the Day:
Joyce Sun (Science of Music) - Vibrations and sound: Water Glass tapping music, straw buzzing, salt & sound
Kara Swink (Art) - Giant loom for weaving, making collaborative art sculptures from recycled materials, and color and paint exploration using canvases in different trajectories.
Abbie Laase (Physics/Engineering) - Building Ramps and Waterways
Keana Olivera, Aaron Swink, and middle school students (Biology)- Uses of Plants and Dyes
Andrew Kakutani & high school students (Physics/Math) - Rocket Launchers and Pendulums
