While we can all agree that parenting has times of great joy, it also can be quite challenging, particularly given the demands and expectations on our children that we did not experience ourselves. Different stages and ages in our children’s lives can be hard on both them and us. As we support the health and well-being of our children and ourselves, understanding our own stress management plays a critical role.

Please join us on Tuesday, February 11th for an incredible opportunity to hear from nationally recognized leaders on parenting, schooling, and the growth of young people.

Michael Thompson is the author and co-author of several books, including the New York Times bestseller, Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys and has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and more. Rob Evans is a child and family therapist who has authored three books and consulted with schools throughout the world. Together, their most recent publication is Hopes and Fears, Strengthening the Relationship with Today's Independent School Parents.

The additional topics of their Feb. 11 talks at Island School will include Best Friends, Worst Enemies with our Middle School students, Under Pressure with our High School students, Hopes and Fears: Working with Today's Independent School Parents with our Faculty and Staff.
