Winter Sports

Island School has 4 varsity Winter sports and a JV Girls Basketball program that we field which compete against the other schools within the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, Kauai High, Kapaa High and Waimea High. The typical length of the Winter season runs from late October to early February. Students may choose to participate in the following sports:


Island School fields a Varsity Girls Soccer Team and a Varsity Boys Soccer Team, which compete against the three other public high schools. The season runs from November through February with the state tournament to follow. Practice times are often after school and is every day.

KIF Soccer Schedule 2016/2017


Swimming is a varsity sport for both girls and boys in grades 9- 12. Often practices are daily and are held at the YMCA pool with students needing memberships to the YMCA in order to use the pool.

Wrestling has only been in the league for 2 years and interest by students is slowly gaining support. Wrestling is open to both genders but has most recently been supported by boys.
