Spring Chorus Concert Features Pop Music

The Alaka‘i, ‘Opio and Keiki Choruses delighted a packed house at Kaua‘i Community College Performing Arts Center last week. Showcasing over 115 students in grades 4-12, the concert paid tribute to pop music from the last five decades. Wonderful choreography by Island School freshman, Moriah Shafter, added special excitement to the evening. Chorus director, Mr. Steinbacher, wowed the crowd with his disco dancing. Student musicians played piano (Audrey Warner and Andy Anderton), violin & viola (Sophia Yamasato, Lia Yamasato, Olivia Gegen) and Chinese teacher, Alicia Hedlesky played cello. Accompanists were Rose Alfiler and Joyce Peralta.
